Day 288 – 290 (15/08/12 – 17/08/12): Philadelphia part 2

Having spent the first day or two chilling, hitting the malls, and discovering that we were staying with a blood relative of William Penn (who, bizarrely has to attend historical meetings on a regular basis), we went sightseeing. We went to see the Liberty Bell, took a bus tour around the city and were proper tourists as we pranced up Rocky’s steps, punching the air and singing “Eye of the Tiger”. Philadelia was a loveable city with its history, multiculturalism and its mix of modern and colonial architecture.
Before long, we were eating at one of Philly’s most famous cheese steak places: Pat’s. As I gorged myself on frankly unfathomably cheesy sandwich, I realised how pleased I was to have Jess and Tina around with whom I was able to bitch about the American food portions and bullshit about England. It was a beautiful change of pace.
Not too much else went on…
